Same Sex Dance Competitions

Glitz and Glitter Ball

        AGAIN THIS YEAR

  • A couple participating in a particular competition is considered to be Student/Teacher, if (a) one dancer is paying the other to dance with them during any part of the competition, and/or (b) if a couple self-identifies as a Student/Teacher coupe by entering such a specified category during that competition.  Student/Teacher couples shall be judged separately from other categories.
  • The "Student" identified in a Student/Teacher category shall be the only one judged, not the "Teacher".
  • Couples entering the Student/Teacher categories are not eligible to dance in the Men's or Women's Graded categories.  They can still dance in the single dance (a la carte) as much as they wish.  In order to quality for student/teacher graded rounds and a chance at a title, the couple must dance in no less than 5 single dances (a la carte) in the style in which they chose to be graded in.
  • Rules, dances and grades listed for the graded categories apply to the Student/Teacher categories as well.
  • All Students MUST be a member of NASSPDA to obtain a title.  Join TODAY!

  • ALL PARTICIPANTS (regardless of proficiency level or same-sex status) can dance in the single dance (a la carte) divisions of the Glitz and Glitter Ball.  This gives everyone more time to be on the floor and show the judges what they are capable of. Mainstream student/teacher (pro/am) couples are welcome to participate.
